Midand Football League Division 1: Leicester Road 2 Hinkley AFC 1.

Leicester Road Stadium, Leicester Rd, Hinckley, Leicester LE10 3DR

The Fifth ‘Battle of Bosworth’ between the two neighbours saw Leicester Rd claim their first ever win. The ground used to be Hinkley United’s who went bust so Leicester Road were set-up to keep some football in Hinkley and utilise the stadium. Hinkley AFC were then formed from United’s ashes but having no ground of their own  play 12 miles away in Heather. The Hinkley fans are still quite bitter about it and their supporters were an aggressive, mard-arse bunch throughout the game.

The biggest crowd for years at the ground (348!) saw a decent game, although Hinkley were particularly poor and LR fully deserved their win that keeps them on-track for promotion.
