Midland Football League Premier Division: Quorn FC 2 Coleshill Town 1.
Farley Way, Quorn, Loughborough LE12 8RB
A first visit of the season to one of our favourite grounds/clubs. Farley Way is a superb little ground for the level and Quorn is a welcoming, decent, well-run club.
A last minute decision to head up to Farley Way rewarded us with one of the best matches we’ve seen this season. 14th placed Quorn pulled-off a shock win over 2nd placed Coleshill thanks to a 30-yard wonder goal and a second half rearguard action that restricted the visitors to lumping it long with as much as 25 minutes to go.
Coleshill’s number 4 was a no-knecked fat lad who looked hilarious when he ran out but then proceeded to run the game like a mixture of Bryan Robson and Glenn Hoddle and was unlucky to be on the losing side.
We narrowly avoided a trip to hospital after Frankie ignored my warnings about standing on the perimeter wall and was just missed by a ball volleyed from a Quorn player warming up at HT. It did make him stay off the wall more effectively than my warning though.
