United Counties League Premier Division: Quorn FC 3 Peterborough Northern Star 0.
Farley Way Stadium, Quorn, Leicestershire, LE12 8RB
Our first visit to one of Frankie’s favourite clubs in over 2 years and much has changed at Farley Way. The league is new, the
management is new, the 3G pitch is new (boo) and there is a huge building site behind the clubhouse that is halfway through raising a massive building block that completely dominates the ground.
That Quorn were too good for Peterborough NS was obvious from the first few minutes and if they’d wanted/needed to they could’ve doubled the scoreline. The highlight came in the second half where we had taken up position behind the Peterborough goal. Quorn’s number 9 tested Frankie’s reflexes with a shot so hard that if he hadn’t ducked at that precise second, would’ve taken his head clean off. The metal wall at the back of the stand reverberated for a good 10 seconds after his shot struck! He survived though and hopefully we’ll get back to Farley Way before the season is out.
